DAMA International®’s election process is governed by clear policies to ensure fairness, transparency, and integrity. All members participating in the election—whether as voters, candidates, or nominators—must adhere to the following key policies:

DAMA International®’s election process is governed by clear policies to ensure fairness, transparency, and integrity. All members participating in the election—whether as voters, candidates, or nominators—must adhere to the following key policies:

 

Voting Eligibility Requirements

  • Only Individual Professional Members (IPMs) and Member Chapters in good standing as of July 1, 2025, are eligible to vote.

  • No proxy voting is permitted (Bylaws Article IX, Section 9.4)​.

  • All ballots must be submitted electronically through DAMA International®’s secure voting system before the deadline.

 

Procedures for Nomination & Petitioning

  • Nomination Process: Candidates must meet DAMA International®’s governance criteria, including prior leadership experience and commitment to the organization’s mission.

  • Petition Process: Candidates not initially slated by the Governance & Nominations Committee can petition to be included on the ballot by gathering: 

    • 100+ signatures from Individual Professional Members (IPMs) OR

    • Endorsements from 10+ Member Chapters.

  • Nomination Deadline: All nominations must be submitted by August 8, 2025.

  • Petition Deadline: Petitions must be submitted by September 18, 2025.

 

Conflict of Interest & Code of Ethics

  • All candidates and election committee members must adhere to DAMA International®’s Conflict of Interest and Code of Ethics policies.

  • Members of the Governance and Nominations Committee Elections Subcommittee  cannot be candidates in the current election year to ensure an impartial process.

  • Any conflicts must be disclosed, and violations may result in disqualification or review by the Board.
